The Hummingbird Research by Eindhoven University of Technology and Stanford University

The hummingbird has been given a named due to the wonderful humming sound as it moves around flowers for feeding. We have found the mechanism behind wing generating hummingbird's sound. It has been found that the beating of wing occurs at 40 beats every second. The researchers carried out a study at Eindhoven University of Technology at Sorama. This is a TU/e spin-off company along with the researcher of Stanford University who had critically studied the hummingbirds. They had utilized high-speed cameras along with six pressure plates. They had also used 2176 microphones. They found that feathered wings are complex and soft. The hummingbirds create an amazing sound. The new research findings will help us develop devices similar to drones and fans and reduce the noise level.

The outcome has been made by the researchers who tried to condense the outcome in ordinary 3D acoustic model. They have chosen airplanes and they have adapted mathematically with the flapping of wings. It makes a prediction that sound of flapping wings have radiated.

The research was carried out on the interpretation of 3D sound images. We need to understand the motion behind the wing of bird.
